The Smartest Way To Rapidly Lose Weight Without Relying On Will Power

Hello and welcome to the Body by Patrick podcast. On today’s episode, we’re going to talk about the smartest way to rapidly lose weight effortlessly without relying on willpower. Because whenever you rely on willpower as supposed to a strategy that is sustainable over time, at some point, your willpower will falter, and you will end up not succeeding.

The strategy I’m about to share with you is based on the fact that your body has a natural desire to want to help you maintain a healthy weight.

So, what does that mean? Let’s say you weigh 150 pounds, and you happen to gain 30 pounds and you went up to 180 pounds. Well, your body knows that’s an unhealthy weight for you and naturally wants to bring you back down to 150. So that 150 pounds is known as your body’s set point.

That’s the place that it would rather be. So, whenever you gain extra weight, your body knows it and wants to naturally bring it back down to that healthy weight. The question becomes, why does it not do that? The reason is because, there has occurred a chemical imbalance in your body that’s making that natural process not happen.

It turns out that your fat cells release a hormone known as leptin amongst other hormones. And the job of leptin is to let your brain know that, hey, I have gone up an excess of 30 pounds and I need you to suppress my appetite naturally, that way my cravings go down and I have a less of a desire to want to overeat.

Over time, without you even doing too much work, your body will naturally lose weight because leptin has been known to help increase your resting metabolic rate, which is responsible for 65% of your ability to burn fat.

Why is it that in some scenarios that doesn’t happen? It’s because the whole system has been disrupted by a hormonal imbalance created by a situation known as inflammation, more specifically, low grade cellular inflammation. And, until you get rid, or you address the low-grade cellular inflammation in your body, your ability to lose weight will be totally, totally an uphill battle.

Now, let’s talk about some of the things that causes low grade inflammation in your body. So, you have to understand inflammation is your body’s response to different type of stresses including infection and injury. And, also, inflammation in your body is caused by the type of food that you eat. You will be amazed by the fact that some foods that you’re eating right now that you think are healthy are inflammatory foods.

How do you know if inflammation is something that’s preventing you from being able to lose weight? Okay. I’m going to share with you now some symptoms that your body could be exhibiting trying to let you know that, hey, you need to address this inflammation thing otherwise, your ability to lose weight will be very, very low.

 If you’re having skin problems, you could be suffering from an issue with inflammation that’s due to the kind of food you’ve been eating. If you have the thinning of your hair, indigestion, bloating, sleeping problems, and then if you just feel depressed, you might be having an issue with inflammation.

And there’s actually a test called a CRP test that you can do, if you want to find out how much inflammation is in your body.

 Two main steps to losing weight effortlessly without relying on willpower is: 1) Address the issue of inflammation in your body that way you can get rid of the leptin resistance, and then, 2) Lose weight because, again, excess body weight in of itself contributes to your body being inflamed.

Some of the other things that also contributes to inflammation: Lack of exercise, exposure to environmental toxins, and excessive stress.
