For several decades eggs had a bad reputation as an unhealthy food, primarily due to their influence on cholesterol levels. At best, egg whites were barely given a passing grade, and many people avoided eggs altogether. As the new scientific information and research trickles in, it seems that this reputation was undeserved. In fact, eggs are quite healthy and play an important role in a diet that is healthy and leads to weight reduction. Eggs are protein rich and contain minerals and vitamins in abundance.
