I like working with Patrick because he cares about you as an individual and wants you to succeed in your goal(s) inside and outside the gym. When I first started working with Patrick seven months ago, I did not know anything about lifting weights or the importance of lifting weights. I thought I was doing great by running on the treadmill and taking group classes.

Once I started training with Patrick he introduced me to the weight room (which I would never in a million years thought I would enter) and there is where my journey started. Patrick introduced me to the different kinds of machine there were at the gym and what each machine focused on when it came to exercising. Before starting a routine, he would run through it and then have me go through a practice run through.

Every session is a surprise. I never know what to expect and Patrick usually has a new exercise to introduce me to that keeps challenging me. Patrick keeps you moving throughout the whole entire hour session and he never lets you give up.

There have been times where I wanted to stop a certain exercise because I was either tired or I would tell myself to was to challenging and I cannot do it. If I were doing the exercise by myself, I would probably stop and never come back to it. With Patrick though it‘s completely different he encourages you throughout the exercise and psychologically helps you in the journey of changing your mental state of Can’t Do it to YES I CAN DO IT!. It‘s has been an awesome experience.

I use to be so negative about doing pull ups I would be in the negatives but Patrick would encourage me to get on the pull up bar to try to do at least one. After a couple of sessions I started to do a couple of pull ups which to me was an great accomplishment and now I am doing 3-4 sets 8-10 of pull ups consistently.

In the last seven months my body has completely change. I lost weight and my clothes are baggy on me. I started shopping for smaller sizes and my confidence level has gone up. The days that I do not have a session with Patrick, I have noticed challenging myself with my own exercise routine. For example running on intervals on an incline or doing sets of pushups on my own. I feel awesome!

I have been working out with Patrick since June, and I was “shocked” from day one/our very first session by the intensity of his workout routines  and how he “pushed my body” like I’d never experienced before.

You have to understand, I was always very athletic growing up and working out was a lifestyle for me.  At the gym, I was that person, like most women, who took practically all the group exercise classes offered at the gym thinking that was going to be my single-and-only “path to success” in terms of achieving my dream body or fitting into my favorite “skinny jeans” again.

For example, I would take a “Body Pump” class on Monday, “Body Combat” on Tuesday, “Body Pump” on Thursday, “Cycle” on Friday and whatever else I decided to throw in that week.   However, despite all my efforts, my body was starting to plateau and I was gaining weight and I didn’t know why, especially given how much time I was devoting at the gym.

I had always wanted to work out with a personal trainer, so I decided enough was enough and I began working out with Patrick in June.

Again, I thought I was “in shape” walking into my first session with Patrick and boy was I wrong.  I could barely walk for the next three days afterwards.  I was honestly embarrassed during that first workout.

I also made the mistake of not bringing a towel and bottle of water to our first training session together; I don’t make that mistake anymore.  Initially, I even had the full intention of jumping into a Body Combat class after my first work out with Patrick, but needless to say that didn’t happen. Lesson learned:  When you work out with Patrick,  there is no need to work out afterwards because he takes you and your body to the “next level.”

What I quickly learned after I started training with Patrick was that, yes, I was working out almost every day, but I was not working out at the right intensity level and I simply wasn’t pushing my body to its “fullest potential”, which is why I was starting to gain weight and my favorite jeans were starting to feel tight around my waist.

I have had countless takeaways from working out with Patrick, but one of the first was that in order to see results you need to push your body to higher levels, levels that you normally would not. I can hear Patrick saying now, “You can always go faster”, “This is the Vision”, “You can always do more.”

It is amazing to see how my jumps squats and “grasshoppers”  have dramatically improved in comparison to day one. I am absolutely stunned at the exercises and movements my body can do now and the improvements I have made since June.  Not only do I look better, I feel stronger which is quite empowering.

For example, I was able to run the “Army 10 Miler” after training with Patrick for only three months without running on my own in order to specifically train for the race itself.  I can count on both hands–with fingers left over–the number of times I ran as part of my training for that race.  It is pretty incredible that I ran 10 miles without running as part of my training!

Now in December I can wear jeans that I wore 5 years ago when I was in college and I have my “cut” back on my hip bone. I have lost one pant size so far and now that size pant is almost too big. What a great excuse to go shopping! :-)

One of my favorite things about working out with Patrick is that it’s more than just a physical work out.  Pushing your body to limits you normally would not go to is as much mental as it is physical.  Patrick encourages, motivates and empowers me during my work out with his words.

Whenever we take a “break” during out workouts, he finds a way to instill cheerful and inspiring lessons and quotes in me. I always look forward to receiving my text from Patrick with a “quote of the day”. I have even carried some of my lessons learned while training with Patrick into the workplace.

Patrick has encouraged me to set goals and dates of when I want to achieve my goals. I now do this with both my workouts and my job. Another takeaway from Patrick is to not relent.  Once achieving a goal, Patrick reminded me to not become comfortable with that, but to continue for more and to set another goal.

My experience working out with Patrick has been amazing and much more than I thought it would be back in the beginning. I am now stronger physically, mentally and emotionally from working out with Patrick.

I am on my way to having my high school and college body back, but I am also a stronger person inside now too. I have gained not only a personal trainer, but someone who motivates and inspires me and a friend.

I have been working out with Patrick for the past 6 months and so far I have lost 25 pounds and have built muscles that I didn’t know I had. Let me start by saying the first time I trained with Patrick (thinking I was in the BEST SHAPE EVER) I thought I was going to “die.” He is cruel (in the nicest way ever as he won’t let you give up on yourself), he pushes you to a LEVEL BEYOND what you think you can do, BUT… PATRICK OCHENI IS SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!! He’s not only the BEST personal trainer out there [Rockville, MD] but he is a good “therapist” as well.

I would definitely recommend Patrick one million/trillion percent to any woman that lives in the Rockville, MD area seriously interested in losing weight, getting a flat stomach, or taking her fitness to a whole new level !! I wish I could have my family/friends just take one private lesson with Patrick and they will become addicted (as I have become). He (in my world) is the PRESIDENT OF FITNESS!!

Patrick creates his own unique, fat-burning workout routines and always tries to make them more ‘INTERESTING’. What does ‘INTERESTING’ mean in Patrick’s language? It means “more challenging” than ever. He gives you many “‘BREAKS’” which consist of jumping jacks, jump squats, mountain climbers, planks, etc… NEED I SAY MORE? This, to Patrick is a ‘BREAK’. YIKES!!

I must say that I’ve been training with Patrick for about 10 months now at least 3 times a week. Before I trained with him I did a Triathlon, was always into gymnastics, was training to become a Body Step instructor, was at the gym at least 5-6 days a week (sometimes 2 hours a day) and thought I was in the best shape ever. I even did the Les Mills 8 hour marathon in Baltimore. The first few weeks training with Patrick I literally thought I would have to go to the hospital, because his workouts are that tough and my body was not used to that level of  intensity!! He pushed me to “THAT LEVEL” BEYOND my belief. That is the pure honest truth.

Once again, Patrick is tougher than ever but his personality is beyond FRIENDLY and LOVING!! He is so much fun and really CARES ABOUT HIS CLIENTS!! Again, he’s not only President OF ALL TRAINERS but the best therapist out there.

Thanks to Patrick, I have a much flatter stomach and abs of steel!

I was the boot camp queen and always thought I would “die” after the classes, but nothing compares to how Patrick trains. The intensity of his workouts are 10x harder, which is why I have seen many positive changes in my body!!!

I am stronger than ever and I’m amazed by what what I have achieved since I started training with Patrick. For example, my “‘BREAKS’” are now 2 minutes and not 30 seconds (remember Patrick “BREAKS” mean pushups, jumping jacks, planks, mountain climbers, etc…).. UGHHHHHH!!

Patrick is not only my personal trainer but I consider him to be a dear friend and probably the ‘BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME IN MY LIFE’. He is a GODSEND!! I have been training with Patrick for about 4 months. When I first started working out with Patrick I was in the middle of training to run in my first marathon. I had also just ran a half marathon, so I thought I was in pretty good shape.

So, on the first training session with Patrick I made the mistake of telling him not to take it easy on me just because it was my first session. That was a HUGE mistake!

He designed a workout routine that had me moving continuously for the entire session. All I can say is after 15 minutes I was about to “die” and, by the end of the session, I didn’t think I was going to be able to walk to my car.

I even reconsidered returning for the rest of my sessions, because I thought these sessions and Patrick’s workout routines were going to be way above my workout level. I have played sports and danced my entire life, but I had never worked out so intensely in my life!

I ended up scheduling a second session, and have been working out with Patrick ever since. His workout sessions are truly a challenge, and still to this day I am asking for breaks during the workouts (even though his “breaks” consist of jump roping or jumping jacks).

Every time I walk into the gym to train with Patrick, I am wondering what I am getting myself into. His workouts are different every session and really put my body to the test. I am exhausted and sore after every session, but leave feeling great about myself.

I started with Patrick with the goal of becoming stronger and more toned, and have seen great results. My arms and legs are more toned then ever, and my stomach is flat and firm. Not only has my body improved, Patrick has also helped me to feel a sense of achievement with my workouts and feel overall better about myself.

Patrick takes your goals into consideration and creates a workout plan specific for you. He has new ideas on how to improve your body, and teaches you along the way. Before working out with Patrick I typically went to the gym and used the cardio machines, did a few abdominal workouts, and maybe a group class here and there. After starting to work out with Patrick, I have learned all kinds of exercises that I can work into my routine when I am on my own, and make my workouts more effective.

I would definitely recommend working out with Patrick, if you’re truly serious about achieving your personal fitness goal(s) and seeing results! His workouts are always a challenge, but he is extremely motivating! He has a way of helping you to accomplish an exercise that you think is impossible.

I would have never thought that I would be able to do some of the exercises that we do during our sessions.  He is knowledgeable and passionate about exercise and helping his clients! I recommend Patrick to everyone!

I started training with Patrick because I was not confident in using the machines, equipment, and classes at the gym to reach my personal fitness goals. I trained with Patrick Ocheni three times per week for three months, and his workouts helped me lose 9 pounds. I would highly recommend Patrick as a personal trainer. There are three things that I really like about Patrick:

First, Patrick’s workouts: Patrick’s workouts are very challenging, and I couldn’t believe how much stronger I became after three months. Patrick designs individual workouts for his clients, and I found that the level of difficulty was just enough to push me outside of my comfort zone and to make me really improve. Prior to working out with Patrick, I was under the impression that, when lifting weights, I needed to rest for a minute after each set. Patrick taught me that this isn’t so. With Patrick’s help, I became able to lift weights for 60 minutes with very little rest – something that I never imagined I would be able to do.

Second, Patrick’s personality: Patrick is always in a good mood and constantly encouraged me to try my hardest during our workouts. His positive attitude kept me motivated even on days when I was tired.

Third, Patrick’s dedication to helping his clients achieve their goals: Patrick cares greatly about all of his clients and wants them to succeed. I had been working out 3 times a week at Curves (circuit training) and thought I was in pretty reasonable shape. Boy was I wrong! Patrick started working with me and pushed me from the very first session. Ever since I started working out with Patrick Ocheni in December 2010, I knew I was in for some challenging, dynamic workouts. My introductory hour-long session lasted only 12 minutes!! My body was done…but I was sold. I wanted to get my energy and stamina up so I could complete a full hour session with him. There are many things I enjoy about training with Patrick, if I had to pick one it would be the challenge that he asks of my body. I am a bit competitive so his workouts are a good opportunity to tap into that part of me.

Patrick is encouraging and makes the workouts fun, even while you are struggling on the last set. He has a “way” of getting you to do things you don’t believe you are capable of doing. Once you find out that you can, that is where the body and mind starts to change. He uses the same techniques and intensity during his own workouts that he asks of his clients…. therefore he is able to relate to them. Patrick knows what he is talking about in terms of weight training technique and principles. I have experienced the changes in my own body and if you see his before and after pictures, you can see those changes even more dramatically.

Patrick’s workouts are both physically and mentally challenging and every workout is very challenging and unique to my individual strengths and weaknesses. Patrick believes in using every minute to the fullest. For example, jumping jacks are considered “a break”. No rest for the weary as they would say!

Patrick always has a terrific attitude. He is fun, but professional at the same time. Even if I might not be looking forward to the “workout” before I get to the gym ;-) when I see Patrick’s smile and his enthusiastic attitude about my workout and what I am going to accomplish, my own attitude starts to change.

In the past, I’ve had a personal trainer, taken boot camps and classes. While I will still participate in a boot camp or class, I have learned a lot about how to maximize my workouts while training with Patrick, so more often I would rather workout on my own. The biggest difference between Patrick and my other trainer was personality and attitude. She was good and I got results, but her attitude was not very positive and encouraging. As a result I stopped training with her and so did a few others.

As a result of training with Patrick, I became stronger, leaner and ore confident as a result. A few of those clothes that were once tight are fitting just right now too.

My overall experience working with Patrick has been very positive. No matter if you are a beginner or seasoned fitness enthusiast, young or old, I would recommend Patrick to anyone who is interested in making some positive changes in their overall mental and physical health.

All I can say is that I’m truly amazed at the way I look since I’ve been working out with Patrick. I’ve lost 4 pounds by eating carefully, but Patrick has tightened and toned my body. I look like I lost more weight than I actually have. I can’t believe the muscle I’m building and am really excited about how much stronger I’m getting. And in only two short months.

The best part of working with Patrick is that he makes the workouts fun. When I’m in the middle of a tough exercise I sometimes wonder about what time it is and when I can leave! But that’s not to say that he’s not serious about what he does. I’ve worked with other trainers and he is far, far better than the others I’ve experienced. None of my other trainers kept notes to keep track of my progress – it’s so exciting when he tells me exactly how much I’ve improved since the last session.

Patrick has worked out an incredible system to chart your progress each workout so that he can plan future sessions based on your body and where it needs to go. No canned exercise sessions with Patrick.

And important for me; he’s understanding. He tries to work with you as a person – where you are that day, no matter what state of mind or body you show up in. He asks lots of questions so that he understands you and your goals. He is supportive and encouraging. As you are struggling to do another rep – he tells you “you can do it, you can do it”.
And that’s why I show up three mornings a week, to see Patrick, work out to his magic system, have fun and get strong.

Training with Patrick has been a fabulous experience for me. Coming from a person who was used to having sports teams coaches constantly pushing you to your limits, I found it hard to come up with workouts that were not boring or repetitious for myself.

Additionally I admit, I always work out harder when someone is there pushing and challenging me, and Pat definitely challenges me.

I had another personal trainer prior to him and the workouts were static and one muscle group focused, I would walk away not sweating and not sore. This should have been a indicator to me that I was not getting a challenging, efficient workout.

When I switched to Pat that all changed very quickly. I sweat more in those one-hour sessions than I did in two weeks with the other trainer. He is seriously the most friendly, kind people person you will ever meet, as evident by the fact that he can tell you the name of 95% of the people who belong to the gym, which is not an easy feat.

Patrick is the support, challenge and guide that I need to keep me on track with my goals of toning my muscles down and remaining fit, happy and healthy. I look forward to every session I have with Pat, and I come away revitalized and renewed in my determination to work harder.

As a trainer, Patrick is very attentive to individual needs and he always keeps me challenged. He is just attentive in general; I could be doing reps of an exercise and Patrick would go across the gym to grab a piece of equipment, but when he returns, he knows exactly what count I’m currently on.

Since I’ve started exercising with Patrick, I’ve noticed a steady growth in my muscle tone AND strength. I’ve also noticed quite a bit of an improvement in my physical endurance.
